Upcoming EAA 88 events

May 21, we kick off our Model Rocket Discovery Day Camps. We are planning on holding 12 of these camps this year. Cost per kid $60.00. There will be a level one and two camps. Registration begins on 4/14 for Model Rocket Discovery Day Camps; limited to 25 kids per camp, starting 5/21. These camps will be held weekly during the summer with each camp being 2 1/2 days each. You can also contact Bill for more information. Camp dates are:    5/21-23    5/29-31    6/4-6    6/11-13    6/18-20    6/25-27    7/9-11    7/16-18    7/23-25   7/30-8/1   Cap times 9:00am -5:00pm first two days, 9:00am -12:00pm on the half day (launch day).            

Saturday June 9 Monthly 2nd Saturday Breakfast at EAA Chapter 88 Headquarters 3612 N.Webb Rd.7-11AM. Adults $6.00 Children 12 & under $4.00. Best breakfast in Wichita.

Make plans to come out and support your chapter and to visit with fellow Chapter 88 members.

June 9th We are also planning on holding our monthly Young Eagles Rally at Jabara 9-12:30. We are in need of pilots. I have fielded several phone calls about Young Eagles this weekend. We have had a good turnout for our rally's. Please if your available come out and help us get the kiddos in the air. We have had several rally's that the kids have had to wait for up to 2 hours.

Breakfast will be $6 for adults and $4 for kids 7 & under.
We will also be flying Young Eagles in Hutchinson 5/5. 
They have some neat aircraft scheduled to be in attendance.
May 5, we have been asked to support the Hutchinson fly-in. They have asked our chapter to do breakfast and
support Young Eagles. I just spoke with the airport manager this week and they are looking into furnishing hotel
rooms for our members that plan on helping with the event.

Pennies for the Roof Campaign.  This is a campaign to raise the $4500 we need to repair the drainage for the roof.  We cannot fix the soffits until the drainage is fixed.  There will be a bucket at the building where you can donate your extra change to a good cause.  Thank you for your help!! 


Midwest Life Team has teamed up EAA Chapter 88 and is offering $35 family memberships.  More information and applications will be available at the General Meeting on Saturday.

Appreciation Fly-In will be

11am. There will be breakfast
served by the Boy Scouts
(donations accepted) and
Young Eagles Rides for kids
ages 8-17. If you would like to
participate with the Young
Eagles flights please contact
the airport and we will get you
in touch with Bill Lindsay because
you’ll need to get a background
check before the Fly-In
to participate.

Again we ask you to arrive early at Cook Field to avoid the long wait. Last year we flew 130+ kids.
